WHAT IS IT
What Is Court-Advocacy Program?
Substance abuse and addiction are widespread problems which often result in legal troubles, leading individuals to face various charges in court. Fortunately, the courts are beginning to understand that individuals who engage in unlawful activity due to substance abuse can be rehabilitated instead of spending time in custody. Court-ordered rehabilitation allows individuals to participate in addiction treatment rather than serve time. The aim is to address the root causes of their behavior. These programs, determined by court orders, involve inpatient stays of varying durations. Court-ordered rehabilitation has a higher success rate in facilitating genuine rehabilitation than any type of time spent in custody. Our on-staff court liaison will collaborate with parole, probation, and/or your attorney to advocate for a better legal outcome which may include opportunity for diversion programs.
WHO IS FOR
Who Should Receive Court-Ordered Services?
Court-ordered drug and alcohol treatment is typically recommended for people involved in unlawful activities that are related to substance abuse. This may include those facing legal consequences due to drug-related offenses, such as possession, distribution, or other substance-related misconduct. The decision for court-ordered rehabilitation is often made by the legal system as an alternative to spending time in custody, recognizing that treating the underlying substance abuse issues might be more effective in preventing future unlawful behavior.
